Do your gut a favor. Learn the ancient art of breadmaking.

Baking with a sourdough starter is how bread products were made for centuries. This ancient art has been forgotten and lost in a world that prioritizes ease and immediate satisfaction over health and mindfulness. Sourdough is rich in health benefits. It benefits your immune system, cardiovascular system, and your microbiome. It’s a fermented food that won’t leave you feeling heavy and bloated.

I know how intimidating sourdough can seem. My goal is to simplify sourdough so that you can curate a baking schedule that fits perfectly into the fabric of your life. Whether you work 12-hour shifts or stay at home, this is something you can learn. With years of experience baking and teaching others how to make sourdough bread, I am here to help you embark on your own sourdough journey every step of the way.

I was one year postpartum and experiencing unfamiliar anxiety. I was looking for an outlet, a hobby—something I could create that would bring me, and my family, great satisfaction and contribute to our health.

In the Summer of 2020, I started exploring the world of sourdough. Without anyone to teach me and no knowledge on where to find online courses, I began to spend most of my free time diving into social media posts and articles, reading, dissecting, taking notes and implementing what I learned. I spent countless hours browsing more instagram accounts than you can imagine to try and piece together every sourdough question I had.

After 4 months of failure after failure, I finally succeeded! My bread became very popular amongst those closest to me. I had people requesting to buy it and, eventually, requesting if I’d teach them how to make it.

This was when Sprout & Grain was born. I decided instead of giving someone a loaf of bread, I would teach them how to make it. Learning how to make this bread caused a ripple effect for good in my life. It changed my life. I know it will change yours, too!

The repetitive actions of mixing and kneading dough is a mindfulness practice. It allows you to concentrate on what you can feel, smell, and see.
